Meet the team
Cameron Dyer
Cameron’s passion for sports rehabilitation goes beyond the clinic – he has presented extensively in the fields of injury management and sports rehabilitation, in addition to publishing his research on injury prevention. Cameron’s expertise spans a variety of areas including ACL recovery, bone stress injuries, achilles tendinopathy and recovery from concussion.
At RAPH Sports Cameron combines his clinical skills with excellent communication and a deep understanding of sports recovery to help patients achieve their goals, whether it’s returning to work, sport or everyday activities.
Outside of work, you’ll find Cameron training in the gym, enjoying a good book, drinking a strong coffee or adventuring with his young family.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) - University of Newcastle
- Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy (La Trobe University)
Matthew Toohey
After completing his tertiary study with a Master in Exercise Science from Edith Cowan University, Matt spent 13 seasons working in professional rugby league from junior pathways to Senior NRL Strength and Conditioning roles at the Newcastle Knights and most recently the New Zealand Warriors. Outside of professional sport, Matt has also worked extensively with youth, semi-professional and professional athletes across multiple sports including football, tennis, basketball, track & field, rugby union and cricket to aid them in improving their on-field physical performance or successfully returning from injury.
Matt now enjoys applying his knowledge and experience from professional sport to the clients of RAPH Sports, namely end stage rehabilitation and reconditioning, strength & power, sport specific speed for the field or court-based athlete and on and off field conditioning. Working with all developing youth, semi-professional, professional athletes as well as all members of the general population, Matt works closely with his clients to optimise their performance on the field, court, gym, at work and in general life.
When not coaching you’ll find Matt training or spending time with his family and friends around the many great sites of Newcastle.
